This
new venture is about engaging with the wider world – reaching
out to those in need, with a willingness to enter into their struggles
and hopes. And in this instance, the desire is to help and support
those with, or affected by cancer.
This ministry is not about duplicating the care already being provided
by the established professional health agencies, nor is it in competition
with charities like Coping with Cancer or LOROS – but it is
about working alongside them.
This new ministry is one of both pastoral
and spiritual care. The Christian ministry of healing, forgiveness
and reconciliation, alongside that pastoral care which seeks to provide
an oasis for listening, searching, encouragement and compassion. Cancer
Care is not an exclusive in-house support group providing only for
the needs of Christians – it seeks to be an open door, without
agendas or boundaries for ALL who seek support and care.
